Frequently Asked Questions

Visi is built around live video presence. When you open a conversation, your camera activates so the other person can see you in real time. Camera access is central to the experience. You can always close a conversation to stop your video feed.

Yes. Every message, image, and ghost typing keystroke is encrypted end-to-end using AES-256-GCM with Curve25519 key exchange. Encryption keys are generated and stored on your device only. We cannot read your messages at any point.

Ghost typing lets you see what the other person is typing in real time, character by character, before they send the message. It appears as a semi-transparent bubble in the conversation. Ghost typing data is also encrypted end-to-end.

No. Video is transmitted peer-to-peer directly between devices using WebRTC. Your video stream never passes through or is stored on our servers. In cases where a direct connection isn't possible, an encrypted relay (TURN) server is used temporarily, but no video data is retained.

You can search for other users by username, email, or phone number from the People tab. Send them a friend request, and once accepted, you can start a conversation. You can also invite friends who don't have Visi yet via email, SMS, or a shareable link.

You can delete your account from Settings within the app, or by emailing privacy@visimessenger.app. Account deletion is permanent and removes your profile, conversations, and all associated data from our systems.

Visi is currently available for iPhone running iOS 16 or later. We plan to expand to additional platforms in the future.

Yes. You can block any user from their profile or conversation. Blocked users cannot send you messages, see your online status, or find you in search results. You can unblock users at any time from Settings.
